Protect our water and defend the sacred, they peacefully demanded, as they tried stopping the Dakota Access Pipeline tearing through their ancestral lands. Across the US, Native Americans are peacefully protesting centuries of injustice, illegal land grabs and the breaking of treaties, the erasure of their cultural identity and languages, and the genocides perpetrated by white supremacy. With their peaceful activism, the victor’s distorted historical narratives are finally being questioned and challenged, and rightful demands are beginning to be heard across all the nations of Native America.
